I am a Registered Psychotherapist and specialize in working with professionals, therapists, executives, and healthcare specialists who have successful careers on paper but still feel unfulfilled in their personal and professional lives and their relationships. You may feel stressed, exhausted, or like you are just going through the motions of your life. Moreover, the pandemic may have played a role in driving you to re-evaluate your priorities. Anxiety, depression, or feelings of overwhelm may be at play and you may feel like you want a safe space to assess how you got to where you are today. I will work with you to explore your current relationships and family-of-origin issues and support you to work through grief, loss, anxiety, trauma (including vicarious trauma and moral injury), and depression. I encourage introspection, self-reflection, and the exploration of life-long and new patterns with the hope of making the present and the future more healthy, meaningful, and positive.

Although my education and training are grounded in many schools of psychology, for example, cognitive/dialectical behavioural, mindfulness, trauma-informed, emotion-focused, and humanistic to name only a few, I specialize in Psychodynamic Therapy. This form of therapy explores the foundations of our emotional suffering. Self-reflection, self-exploration, and the relationship between therapist and client are pivotal in the process of change. The goal of this type of therapy is to decrease symptoms, but also allow you to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

I work with individual adults as well as couples.

Clinical RP Supervision

As an educator in psychology and psychotherapy for more than 20 years, a clinician since 2005, and a clinical supervisor since 2017, I strongly believe that the foundation of providing effective counselling for clients is based on a therapist’s ability to stay true to themselves and create strong therapeutic relationships. This is most often done while staying in the present moment (Stern) with... Read More

This is most often done while staying in the present moment (Stern) with clients. Accordingly, my supervision philosophy emphasizes the therapist's ability to be with the client while at the same time being with themselves in the clinical setting. Linking theory to practice, while considering the clinician's emotional reactions in the consulting room, are important to help the supervisee critically reflect on their SEUS (safe and effective use of self). I support psychotherapy interns, RPQs, and fully licensed professionals as they journey to create or expand their professional identity. I emphasize self-reflection, case conceptualization, and skill building but also focus on intentionality when considering specific modalities and/or techniques. My supervision pedagogy is grounded in feminist approaches, with an emphasis on psychodynamic, attachment, relational, and transferential insights.

I am a registered psychotherapist and specialize in contemporary relational psychoanalysis, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and brain-based holistic approaches to support your mind, body, and spirit as you journey through life/work transitions, grief, loss, anxiety, trauma (vicarious and moral injury), or depression. Introspection, self-reflection, and the exploration of difficult thoughts or feelings are not easy, but you don’t have to do it alone.  In our work together we can explore the roots of your stress, burn-out, interpersonal struggles, anxiety, or feelings of inadequacy. From the comfort of your home, you can discuss your fears, stressors, and hopes as I holistically guide you toward more psychological balance and well-being. You can live a more authentic, meaningful, and peaceful inner life.

I also provide clinical supervision to interns (I am a Yorkville approved supervisor), RPQs, RPs, and Independent Practitioners from all mental health professions (MACP, MEd, SW, MD, RN, OT etc).
